Types and signage

On Majorca, most trails are easily followed and are usually marked with stone trail markers. Some of them are cleaned, maintained and signposted with wooden posts and informative panels by the Consell de Mallorca (the regional government).

Some are marked with the international hiking signs (GR, PR, or SL). At any rate, hikers will find path markings and numbering systems that are similar to those anywhere in the world. For further information, we recommend you purchase maps of the area and download the information you find on this website.

Very common. Stone heaps (milestones) that mark the direction to continue along a trail.
In certain sections. Wooden posts that at all times indicate the different path options we can choose along our hike.
Less common, but quite well known are the international GR, PR and SL signs that show the correct path.
