Puig des Galatzó

On the north side (Estellencs).
El Puig de Galatzó, with its pyramid shape, stands out above the other peaks on the southern end of the mountain range. This itinerary is more interesting than the normal route (see “Other options”), because it is a loop route that crosses forests and affords panoramic views of the coast.

Other options

El Puig de Galatzó from Puigpunyent and Font des Pi (normal route): from Puigpunyent, follow the directions to “La Reserva. Puig de Galatzó”. When you reach a level area with numerous junctions (you will see the Es Cucui house on the right), stop following the signs to La Reserva and go up the street on the right, ignoring all the junctions. Shortly after passing an abandoned quarry, the track rises sharply and when it levels out (on the right side you will pass by a wide unpaved track), take the first paved street on the right until you reach a fork in the tracks. Here you can park the car (Font des Pi is dry and hidden). Walk up the unpaved track (heading north) until you reach the first fork (5 min.), where you will turn right. Follow the path to the end (2 min.), where it turns left and narrows. You will reach the slope of a large hill (20 min.). To the right there is a watchtower for fires, which you will pass by, heading north (toward the sea) along a path that is level at first, and after crossing some rocky beds, it rises toward the fork to the peak (20 min., point D on the previous route).
